Those Who Sing Pray Twice |
St. Cecilia Performers
History:
In the early 1980s, a small Italian church in Cincinnati, Ohio named Sacred Heart Church was headed by its pastor, Father Angelo Bordignon, who loved music. At that time, he was aware of two young musicians within his parish community—a harpist, and a violinist. He thought it would be nice to bring them together to provide music for special occasions at the church. It was the beginning of a fruitful collaboration. Soon after, a vocalist was added to form what Father Angelo liked to call “The Sacred Heart Trio.” Some of the arrangements you will hear in THE ANGELUS CD were first performed by this trio.
Since that time, those original musicians have followed different paths but the special arrangements of the pieces they performed have been saved. These arrangements have been recorded on THE ANGELUS CD in the hope that others may hear and enjoy the beauty and inspiration of this music. This recording was made possible thanks to the dedication and talents of many wonderful musicians in Northeastern Ohio.
